Recruitment fraud is on the rise. Avenue Therapeutics (“Avenue”) has become aware of multiple attempts by individuals unaffiliated with the company posing as representatives who are authorized to conduct job interviews and/or solicit personal information from potential job applicants.  Specifically, Avenue has become aware of the use of an e-mail address of hire.info@avenuetherapeuticsinc.com to conduct such interviews and/or solicit such information.   This is not a domain name associated with Avenue and you should not communicate with anyone using that domain name if your intention is to communicate with Avenue.  If you have received a communication in any medium from any individual or entity purporting to represent Avenue in employment-related (or any other) matters, or if you suspect for any reason that your communications with a purported representative of Avenue may be disingenuous, please: (1) stop all such communications immediately and refrain from disclosing any personal information about yourself or anyone else; and (2) contact info@avenuetx.com regarding the same for us to help determine if the communication is authentic.

What You Can Do

If you believe you have been the victim of job recruiting fraud, you can:

  • Immediately report the incident to your local police.
  • File a fraud report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The website IdentityTheft.gov goes through the steps to report and included resources for victims of identity theft.
  • Report the activity to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov.
  • Report the activity to the company the cyber criminals impersonated.
